Hello All,

Recently we have panned to upgrade the DPM 2010 to DPM 2012. While doing so we came across a issue that we are unable to update roll up3 on some of our DPM Server.

While updating the roll up3 (DataProtectionManager2012-KB2751230) after upgrading to DPM2012 it given an error as below:

DPM update installer has detected that following required prerequisites are missing. Install this DPM update installer again.

A requited hotfix KB2223201 is missing. Install it from....

I checked in the window update that this is are already installed and also tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the issue is still persist.

Please help on this as because rollup 3 is important as we are not getting the tapes overdue report.

I believe DPM uses WM to check for prerequisites.  See if KB2223201 is returned by this query.

1) Open an administrative command prompt - then run the following.

2) wmic qfe list | find /i "KB2223201"

If that does not list the article - then WMI needs to be fixed so it shows that article as being installed.

Thank you very much for that. I think you are right.

I implemented the command and gives a message as below:

"C:\Windows\system32>wmic qfe list | find /i "KB2223201"
No Instance(s) Available."

Please help me to fix this problem. How do I fix the WMI issue and install the roll up3.
