Issue in displaying list view webpart in Top site collection (the list resides in the subsite of top site collection)

Hi friends,

I am stuck with one issue for many days. It would be really kind of you if you could help me resolve it. Thanks in advance.

Issue: I'm using SP2013 Designer. I need to display a list view webpart in the top site collection but the source list actually resides in its subsite.

When I save .WEBPART  "To File", it doesn't prompt me the pop-up message as below:

Do you want this Web Part to always show list data from the current web site? If
you select No, the web part will show data from the list at the path ___,
relative to the site in which it is used.

After the webpart is uploaded to the site collection, when we click on "add a webpart" and select it, it displays error:

List does not exist. The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user.

Please help. Thanks.

Hi Ann,

For this issue, I recommend to edit the .webpart file for the list after exporting the list view web part.

Check if the WebId has been changed to the corresponding GUID instead of the string with 0.

You can refer to the link below about the WebId(same for SharePoint 2013):

About how to get the WebId of the site where the original list view web part exists:
