Issue in SCCM Hardware scan date
Hi All, We are maintaining SCCM 2007 R3 installed sites. AD boundaries are assigned for site boundaries. I have been receiving future dates (Ex: xx/ Sep/2012, xx/Jan/2013) and US date formats (MM/DD/YYYY) in our last hardware scan date columns. Our firm is in UK and we used to receive UK standard date formats in our last hardware scan date on all the reports. It is not happening now. When I query a report from database the last hardware scan column lists some future dates and US format dates. I have checked the Time zones of the client machines where the future dates are querid, the time format is Uk time zone (GMT) only. But still when we generate the report, it is showing different date formats. Please assist.

Future dates are a problem, they should be rejected and not processed by CM07. However I have seen it where a few get processed, the only way to get rid of them is to Force a Full inventory (mostly works) or delete the PC (always works) For those listed with wrote date formats it is mostly because as some point in the past they did have the wrong date format. What reports are causing you issues? Are you taking about SSRS or ASP reports? If you query the db directly are you see the US date format? http://www.enhansoft.com/

Thanks for the response Garth. It is happening when I query the report through Queries node in Config Mgr Console and while generating cutomized reports from SCCM database as well. Please get back to me, if it does not clarify your query.

I've seen that a few times. The end-user has managed to change the date/time on the PC, and then a HW inventory cycle ran. Garth's suggestions should take care of those records. Nick.

Hi Nick, thanks for your response. I found that the issue is occuring because of manual change of time by the user. there are some scenarios like that. But there are some more where the user did not change the date, but still it shows the future date. could you share your views..Best Regards, Sukandha

Could you provide some techinal docs which explains about this function. I'm sorry which function? ASP, SSRS or Forcing full HW inventory? If you are talking about Forcing HW Inventory, There are no tech docs on the subject. You need to download SCCM Client Center and use the menu item.http://www.enhansoft.com/
