Issue Importing Excel Spreadsheet into SP 2010 Foundation

I've been tasked with importing a excel spreadsheet into a site for one of administrative departments. Everytime I try to import the spreadsheet I get following errors:

  1. Spreadsheet opens, then pop up appears with message, "Could not load some objects because they are not available on this machine."  Click OK
  2. Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications launches, with a popup error with the following message:  "Compile error:  The code in this project must be updated for use on 64-bit system.  Please review and update Declare statements and then mark them with the PrtSafe attribute."  Click OK
  3. MS Visual Basic for Applications closes, spreadsheet closes, and get message from webpage popup stating that "An unexpected error has occurred. (-2147352567).

That's where I'm stuck out.

Are you using a 64 bit version of Internet Explorer? If so, try the 32 bit version of IE.

Does it work if you copy the data from that worksheet into a new Excel file?

So, I have tried using the iexplorer.exe from the program files (x86) folder and other browsers to try to upload the file, but still have the same error (of course, SharePoint wants an Active X browser, so FireFox didn't work).  Forgot to mention that I was trying to do this on a Windows 8.1 Update 1 machine.
