Issue - Report Builder 3.0 using Sharepoint List as Datasource
I am trying to make a report using Report Builder 3.0 using a list from my Sharepoint 2010 site as datasource. I build the dataset using the Query Designer and if I test the query result I see what I expect to. But if I run the preview (of simple table linked to the dataset I previuosly created) I see only part of data in Dataset. The Sharepoint List I select for my Dataset, is based on a Microsoft Project Template (the list is made by folder, tasks and subfolder). Maybe this is the problem because in the Query Result I see all tasks (also if they are in folder and subfolder of my Projet List) while in the preview I see only the item in the root of the Projet List (some folder title and some tasks made on the root folder). (I get the same result if I open the Report deployed on Sharepoint Library) (the environment is SharePoint 2010 foundation with Sql Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services in Sharepoint Integrated Mode) Thanks in advance G. Hi Jackita, Is your sharepoint list like below: If so, I think it should display all the fields you selected in the sharepoint list, since you can see all the records you selected in the query designer, here I would recommend you drag a table without any filters or groups to your report, then lay these fields to see if they are the same records as in query designer. if the issue still exist, please give some detail information about your scenario, such as your sharepoint list structure report's design steps. For more information about SQL Reporting Services data from SharePoint lists, please see http://www.codeproject.com/KB/reporting-services/ReportFromSharePoint.aspx Thanks, Challen FuPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.

Hi Challen Fu, the sharepoint list is like you indicate in the image. The matter in not on the "Fields" but on the records I get from the sharepoint list. When I check the result in the query builder I get all records that I can see also on Sharepoint listwebsite using the default view. But, when I see the preview in the report builder I get only few records (the same I can on Sharepoint list website using another view. not the default one). My Sharepoint list i based on a Microsoft Project Template, I can create folder and task in this list. In the root of the list I have four folders and one task. in each folder I have other folders and tasks (there are some projects and subprojects, and each project is made by tasks). The report preview seems attached to a view different by default, is as the used view were the project view. Maybe the issue coulde be overcome if I could know a way to specify the view to use for that list in the report. I was trying to attach some images but unfortunatelly I cannot copy them in this reply. Thanks
