Is there a way to detect installed .cer on client machines
Hi I found out this document http://www.sccm-tools.com/tools/vbscript/vbscript-certificates.html by Matthew Hudson & Sherry Kissinger Since Sherry is regularly checking this forum, she will probably update this information if needed. brgds bruno

For information, note that Capicom is already present on Windows 7/bruno

I wanted to see if there was a way to write a query in Configuration Manager to detect installed certificates .cer on client machines. What I have done so far is add the file extension *.cer to my software inventory client agent properties inventory collection file types. I wanted to list installed certificates on laptops to ensure that all laptops have a specific .cer file that allows wireless to work on our network. Thanks, Brit

IS there a particular MSI file build I should be using for Windows XP capicom? Just wanted to make sure I was using the correct one on windows xp. I am having issues installing it so I wanted to make sure this was correct. I am using the capicom_dc_sdk.msi 2.1.0.2 sdk.

Just install that capicom-msi and see if it registers itself in add/remove programs.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

I see that it is starting to work. I am pushing the msi file to windows xp machines. I am pushing the vb script to all windows xp and windows 7 machines. Mof file has been edited. The only thing I may need help on is how to list all certificates from each machine. I wanted to get as much detail as possible.

Yes it did. I was unsure what portion to take from it to create a report. I need to list all certificates on each machine with as much detail as possible.

That's all mentioned in the article. You have to modify sms_def.mof plus run a script on the clients (on a regular basis). Hardware inventory has to be run then in order to get the information into the database. Then you can start creating reports (the information should be available when using the view v_GS_Certificates if I am not mistaken).Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de
