Is it possible to use a filter in AD Discovery methods?
Is it possible to limit your Active Directory System Discovery (or any other discovery method) by using a LDAP filter? I am specifically trying to limit the query to only find server objects which I am hoping to limit by using the operatingSystem attribute and Windows Server* as the limiter. My string would be something like this: LDAP://dc=domain,dc=com(operatingSystem=Windows Server*) (Also tried without wildcards with no success) LDAP://dc=domain,dc=com(operatingSystem=Windows Server 2003) I have also seen references to limiting the query like this, but I am thinking it wouldn't be necessary when the recursive option is checked. LDAP://dc=domain,dc=com??sub?(operatingSystem=Windows Server*) So far, I haven't been able to get any limiting filter to work, so maybe it's just a limitation of the query, or I could just have the syntax all wrong...

Hi, I don't think it's possible to limit the discovery by attributs such the OS version because as far as I know the customization is only to define DC or container in the query. Bechir Gharbi | My blog: @myITforum.com | Twitter: @Bechir_Gharbi | Linkedin: Bechir Gharbi | Time zone: GMT + 1
