Is it possible to install clients in an other domain tree by using wsus
I am installing sccm clients from wsus and it all works fine in our domain tree. We have a second domain tree that also need to have the client installed from the same wsus-server. Computers in that domain tree are able tose the sccm client update, no problem there. But when i starts to install the client it failes. The problem is that the installation cannot find the smssite smsslp and fsp. If I install the client locally on the computer like this: sccmsetup.exe SMSSITECODE=AAU SMSSLP=sccm.ws.humfak.auc.dk FSP=sccm.ws.humfak.auc.dk it all works fine. So my question is: Is it possible to install clients in an other domain tree by using wsus. bnk

I think the problem is that The software update point installation method does not support adding installation properties to the CCMSetup command line. If no command line properties have been provisioned on the client computer using Group Policy, it will search Active Directory for installation properties. But since you are deploying client in another AD, those clients will not be able to search AD for installation properties. So you need to somehow provision the ccmsetup properties to the client in the second domain - check this article for information http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632469.aspxKent Agerlund

Hi Kent. Thanks that was what I was looking for. In the GPO I entered:/mp:sccm.int.com SMSSITECODE=AAU SMSSLP=SCCM.int.com FSP=SCCM.int.comThen it all worked like a charm :)Now my wsus server installs clients in two other forrests. bnk

Hi guys, I have installed a SCCM server and a SCCM client, using the above GPO setting. I do see it in my event viewer that my client was configured successfully. However, seems like my SCCM server has no knowledge that this client exists. Where in the console must I see the existance of this client and what am I missing when I dont see the client listed under the configuration Manager console. Thanks in advance, Piya!
