Is it possible to create folders in a Discussion board?
I realize that a discussion item is really a folder, but is it possible to organize the Discussion board with top level folders and then discussions within those folders?

Based on the content type hierarchy, items within discussion list are actually folders and replies to each topic are items in that folder. It means that SharePoint
actually organize discussion board items as folders.

Sorry Lily, I stated in my OP that I already knew that.
Based on the lack of response I guess it's just not possible.

Hi,
You can add a folder through SP Designer but the problem is you still CAN'T see it on dicussion page. If you really need it you can create a link in Quick Menu and add the url of the folder to that link. That way your folder works.
