I don't see the Social Computing connection. Is this MySite, Blogs or Wiki specific ?Moving to SharePoint General (although if you are looking for Programming information, that's the forum it should have gone to)WSS FAQ sites: http://wssv2faq.mindsharp.com and http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com Total list of WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007 Books (including foreign language) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/Lists/v3%20WSS%20FAQ/V%20Books.aspx

Dear Mike,The "Dotted-line manager" profile property is a property that can be shown in a users profile on his MySite... A user can have, next to the manager property a dotted-line manager. The property is present in the profile and I wanted to check if SharePoint was using (or could use) the dotted-line manager in a similar way (like in the hierarchy) as the manager property.Kind Regards,Luc

I'm currently using this to store the name of a user's head of department. However I'm not having any luck getting access to this value using a Sharepoint Designer workflow. In fact they all fail if you try and access elements of a User Profile. Any clues? Was it not supposed to do that?
