What you will find is that you can't move from MOSS to WSS 3.0 just like that. There's no knowing which of the MOSS 2007 functions are included in any backups / exports etc. *even when you haven't used them*. Doing things on a global level typically in any case requires "like to like". This usually means restoring (for instance) to the same version of the same product. Clearly it's not going to work to a different product. the workaround is to go as close to the metal as possible. That is use the various Save xxx as template options. First Save sites as Templates (with content) and try to use those templates in a WSS 3.0 site. If you are very lucky some of those might work. For the sites where the template you made using Save site as Template doesn't work in WSS 3.0, do save List as Template (with content) and try to add those templates to a same type of site that you have created in WSS 3.0. Most of those templates will probably work. (Why Most?: If the save Site as template doesn't work at least one List includes MOSS only stuff) If templates don't do the trick, create the List or Doc Lib and then move the content by hand. In the case of doc libs; move the files *and* use DataSheet View to move the metadata. (Office files include the metadata but other types of files suc as pdf files don't so you'll usually need this second step. FAQ sites: (SP 2010) http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com; (v3) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com and (WSS 2.0) http://wssv2faq.mindsharp.com Complete Book Lists (incl. foreign language) on each site.
