Is IIS a prerequisite to install SQL Server 2008 R2 reporting services on a Windows 2008 R2 server?
I have read this KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934164 where it's mentioned IIS is a prerequisite for SSRS in 2005. Someone told that for the SQL Server 2008 R2 I can install and configure the SSRS without even installing IIS. Please let me know it's very urgent.

Hello, It's correct, SQL Server 2008 and 2008 R2 don't need (and don't uses) the IIS, they uses there own HTTP.sys to host the web service. It's not longer prerequisiting for install.Olaf Helper * cogito ergo sum * errare humanum est * quote erat demonstrandum * Wenn ich denke, ist das ein Fehler und das beweise ich tglich Blog Xing
