Inventory report error
HI, Checked the log files. From client end: Inventory agent log. Warning messages: Inventory: 1 Collection Task(s) failed. Failed to get IWbemService Ptr for \\localhost\root\vm\VirtualServer Namespace: 8004100E Failed to enumerate instances of VirtualMachine: 8004100E From Server end: MP_HInv.log checked: giving below error message. Date property year value is less than 1980 - 16010101000000.000000-000; year will be adjusted by MIF processing on site server Please advice on this. Ignore the HINV error ... For the other error, it could simply be that the clients date\time is set wrong, or something more sinister.

for the "date property year value is less than 1980"; here's the two situations I've heard of that happening: 1) It's "Software Licensing Product", where EvaluationEndDate is somehow resolved to be 1601 (the year 1601), and that's obviously older than 1980. The easy fix is to determine if you need that AI class to be enabled. If you currently don't use the data regarding Software Licensing Product, just go into your sms_def.mof, find that section, and change it from TRUE to FALSE. If you DO use that class for something... you might want to open a call with your TAM. Or see the link below; maybe it's that 1 file that trips up SINV that is also tripping up SoftwareLicensingProduct as well. 2) The other situation I heard of is IF you have Dell Machines, and you use OMCI on those Dell machines, after you upgrade from version x to version y (I forget which exact version), one of the OMCI classes that you have in your custom sms_def.mof; Dell changed the attribute type from DATETIME to String; on the client itself. So, your mof file is trying to pull a DATETIME value out of a String value; and although "data" exists, because it started out as a string not a true WMI datetime value, it throws this error. Well, of course, as a third option it is of course possible that the client truly does have it's date set as 1979, not 1980 or newer, but I doubt that. I don't think this is specifically related to your issue, because it is to do with Software Inventory, not Hardware Inventory, but since it's also about inventory not working due to old dates, just in case...: http://systemcenterinfo.blogspot.com/2008/04/sccm-software-inventory-failing-on-xp.html Standardize. Hi All, I'm trying to pull the report from servers that what and all patches are available in servers add/remove programs. query is correct, i'm able to get report, however few servers are not showing all the patch KB details. if i login to the server->go to add/remove programs i've minimum 50+ patches are available. but i'm getting only 8 patches, another server i'm getting 14 patches. few servers i'm able to get all the patches. i'm initialted the hardware inventory policy and software inventroy policy. hardware inventroy set every 1 day and software invenrtory set every 1 week. why i'm not able to get patches for few servers..please help me on this.

The result of updates/patches is sent to the site using state messages - not HINV or SINV. You can trigger a resync using SDK mechanisms, see http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/da-DK/configmgrsdk/thread/a2f3520b-6e7c-4a4a-bcbe-b05b1609ec28Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

You mean to say, you are not able to get the patches installed on the server or the sccm compliance report is not getting updated with the latest status then you can try the script mentioned by kent in the below thread? http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrsum/thread/85b17ed3-7aef-4174-8b4c-2cbcca5c76cf Anoop C Nair - Twitter @anoopmannur MY BLOG: http://anoopmannur.wordpress.com SCCM Professionals This posting is provided AS-IS with no warranties/guarantees and confers no rights.
