Invalid Microsoft Operations Manager Database VErsion
I am getting an error when installing a brand new installaton of scom 2007 r2 on 2008. The database server is on 2008 and sql 2008. When i rtun the setup installation I deselect the db option and select all other options. Then it says Invalid Microsoft Operations Database version. Setup found that the Microsoft Operations Manager database version on the specified database server is not the same as the current product version. any ideas? I read and this configuration of sql 2008 on 2008 is supported

You need to have SQL 2008 SP1 installed for R2.From :http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb309428.aspx Operations Manager Operations database SQL Server 2005 Standard or SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 1, Service Pack 2, or Service Pack 3, or SQL Server 2008 with Service Pack 1. SQL collation must be SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_AS, no other collation configurations are supported Michael Pearson OpsMgr Performance Test Team http://blogs.technet.com/michaelpearson/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Are you doing an upgrade from a previous version of OpsMgr, or doing a clean install?Michael Pearson OpsMgr Performance Test Team http://blogs.technet.com/michaelpearson/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. How did you pre-create the database? Did you use the DBCreateWizard, or did you create an empty database with SQL Management Studio?Michael Pearson OpsMgr Performance Test Team http://blogs.technet.com/michaelpearson/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. I was stuck in exactly same situation and only had an empty database created. When I used DBCreateWizard from SCOM support tools (on the CD) to create database on SQL server, problem was gone. Thanks again, Michael.Saulius

I have the same situation as JonDoe321, I created an empty db with SQL management studio. What will be the solution for this case? Go into support tools of the SCOM and use the dbcreatewizard utility and you're problem will be solved. It worked for me.
