Internet-Based Client can't download SUP 3rd party updates from Internet-published DP

Hello,

I just extended my SCCM infrastructure to support my roaming laptops from intranet to internet. MP, DP, SUP, and FSP have been installed on dedicated DMZ servers, and published/activated over Internet.

From there, I properly validated that an internet-client (domain laptop temporary moving outside my internal network) is:

- able to download policies

- install software trigger by software deployment (therefore, they are able to properly download required packages from DMZ DP)

- execute software update assessment against the SUP/WSUS DMZ server

- install approved Microsoft updates doing a direct download from Microsoft websites

- Send inventory, status, etc. as required

But only one thing does not work. Deployment of 3rd party updates.

I already successfull used SCUP to publish Adobe catalog updates (Flash Player, Adobe Reader)... It works perfectly fine when the client is located on Intranet.

But when the client is roaming to Internet, it properly detects it must install the Adobe updates but it is not able to get them from the DMZ DP...

Anybody with the same issue ?

Regards.

Why not? Any error messages? What's in the logs?

Here is an extract of DataTransferService.log when the SCCM client located on Internet tries to download the related package from the DMZ DP to update Acrobat Reader. Especially it looks to complain about proxy for BITS but I don't use proxy.

Any suggestion on my problem ?

In the meantime, I also confirmed that the following URL is valid. When I try to manually download it from Internet, it works fine. So the DP looks in a good state.

Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) as they can work with you to solve this problem.
