Interactive Parameters
Hi Jo_mo, Did you add a filter into your dataset? You should add a filter into the dataset to filter the data base on the value of the parameter. Please refer to the link below to see how to add a filter into you dataset, it will tell you how to do it step by step, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd255287.aspx If you hav any questions, please feel free to ask. Do you mean a free from text box? if so, then yes, you can have the parameters as a free form text box, I have several within my reports as well as dropdowns for my parameters

Hi Jo_mo, From your description, you want to create a parameter that has no value to select, just let user type a value, right? If I have anything misunderstood, please let me know. Just as Csharp said, if a parameter has no available value, then when you review report, it display as a text-box instead of drop-down list. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Hi Charlie, thanks for replying. Thats what I meant. Yes, I have made those parameters, but now following problem: the parameter doesnt filter the report in the right way. Of course I watched out writing `case sensetive. For example: I wanted to filter out sales figures based on the relevant Head of Department, but the whole Report was shown without any filter results. Thanks a lot JO_MO
