Installing new secondary site over a slow link
Hello - We have just setup a new remote office that currenlty has a slow WAN link. We have alot of packages on our primary site and I wanted to know if anybody knows an easy way to replicate these packages to the new DP at the new secondary site? I understand I can use the courier sender for large packages but it's time consuming to setup all the packages with the courier as the prefered sender. I was looking for some way to copy all my packages at my primary site to the secondary site using removeable media.

I ran into this error when trying to run the preloadpkgonsite.exe on all my packages. The package doesn't exist Failed to get the specified package <packageID> in the database. Please check if you have instance rights to that package. I have instance rights and I also tried running with the CMD elevated as i seen that solution on another post but it did not work for me. Any ideas or am i missing something?

Don't specify a package version on the command-line or use the corret command-line as detailed in the below post: http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2009/05/07/configmgr-2007-the-preload-package-tool-preloadpkgonsite-exe-explained.aspx Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys

OK so i got it to work by refreshing the packages on the DP and it also worked if I selected Update all DP with a new package source version. I would hate to have to refresh or update the version for all my packages so does anybody know why I have to refresh the package to get the PreloadPKkgOnsite.exe to work? thanks

I had two more secondary sites that i set up and deployed and with both of these server the preloadpkgonsite.exe worked perfectly. I rebuilt the secondary site server that was having a problem and it worked to second time.
