I have a red x in the SSRS Configureation Manager and the ASP .NET Service Account is greyed out. There are no application poos. How do I assign a Service Account? Thanks.

I am having the same issue!!!! Everything was working fine yesterday. Today I could not access any of my reports. Checked here and my ASP .NET Service Account is greyed out....what gives???

Here is a link on Reporting Services configuration. A second link on installing RS and configuring. When you go to Computer Management (right click on computer), in services you should see: SQL Server Reporting Services (MSSQLSERVER) Or slight variation if it is a named instance. It should say "Started" meaning running. If you right click on it, you can change properties including account information. Let us know if helpful.

When I try to select a service for the Report Server and/or Report Manager I get the error message: "There was an error setting the identity for the web service. The previously set identity will still be used. ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.WMIProviderException: An unknown error has occurred in the WMI Provider. Error Code 80070003 at ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.RSReportServerAdmin.SetWebServiceIdentity(String applicationPool)" Since there is no previous identity, the configuration fails.

I reinstalled SQl server + SP1 + SP2 and SSRS configured itself correctly this time. I may not have had IIS v 6 installed/enabled the first time I installed...not sure.

We are unable to select either DefaultAppPool or Classic .Net pool then we get the error "There was an error setting the identity for the web service. The previously set identity will still be used." when we set it to reportserver it goes through but then when we try to access Report Manager website we can only see the header but no menu bar exists. Any one know how to resolve this?
