Installing SSL certificates on both web application and extended web application(Intranet/Extranet) Setup)
Hello, I have a MOSS 2007 setup. I have a web application serving the Intranet users and an extended web application off of it serving the Extranet users. Currently, I have Windows AD authentication enabled on the INTRANET web application and the Forms Based Authentication on Extranet web application configured. I would like to make both of them SSL enabled. Can someone give me step by step directions on how to handle this. Thank you, John

you need to configure the SSL first (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299875) then you'll have to do it through IIS Manager though. Add the certificate to your web app, set up the 443 port, etc. as if it were a normal IIS site you were adding SSL to. Once it's working, change the Alternate Access mapping to https:// instead of http://. this is good one if you wana setup the SSL with new web app.http://vspug.com/tmt/2008/01/30/configuring-ssl-in-sharepoint-2007-development-environment/ hope this help thanks -wsSharePoint administrator, MCTS,MCITP

Does it require two individual SSL certificates one for each site(Extranet and Intranet) in IIS? They both have different URLs. I am using IIS7. Can someone put the steps I need after extending the web application to apply the SSL? Thanks,
