Installing SCOM 2012 and AD DS Changes?
Hello All, Please I have some questions regarding installing SCOM 2012: To install OpsMgr 2012 should I extend and prepare Schema before installation like what we do with Exchange 2010? If I installed the OpsMgr 2012 without extending Schema, is this correct installation or not? Does installing SCOM 2012 make changes to Active Directory and/or Exchange Server 2010 (in other words, does it create AD/Exchange accounts and/or groups)? thanks in advance for the help and support. Best Regards,

Hi SCOM does not change the AD schema so 1 and 2 are not relevant. For 3 - when you deploy the Active Directory Management Pack it creates OpsMgrLatencyMonitors containers: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/operationsmanagermgmtpacks/thread/4cd7f5e5-1a38-4947-89a0-a76e731cd23e Cheers Graham Regards Graham New System Center 2012 Blog! - http://www.systemcentersolutions.co.uk View OpsMgr tips and tricks at http://systemcentersolutions.wordpress.com/
