Installing R2 on to SP2
I have a Primary site and 3 secondary sites all which were installed few months ago with R2 and then SP2 which after it was released. Recently I have been asked to setup a 4th secondary site which I have. However, instead of installing SP1 R2 first I have installed SP2 as a new install and now just realised that we are going to need R2 on this also. How do I go about installing R2 on to this? Can I do it without uninstalling everything?

Just install R2 on top of it.

Thanks, that worked. When I right click the site name and select properties, "R2 Installed" is still showing as No. Do I need to do anything?

And do not be too impatient. It could take a while until the information is replicated up.

If I am correct, R2 doesn't chage the version or build number, right? I have 4.00.6487.2000 for version and 6487 for Build number.

That's correct. the version number you are seing is the one for SP2. R2 will be listed in the Site properties. Also remember to upgrade any administrator consoles that you have.Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products
