Hi, Actually i need to setup a server to have SQL Server 2012, Sharepoint Server 2010, powerpivot for excel and powerview... What should be the sequence to install these softwares and what are the best practices to install these?

Hi, The step by step link I have given has detailed sequence. However, I will give an overview. 1) Power pivot for Excel is an an add-in for excel. You can install it anytime. 2) Run the SQL Server setup and install the required features. (Don't select features reporting services-sharepoint & reporting services add-in for sharepoint products now) 3)Then run the sharepoint setup and install sharepoint. 4) Apply Share point SP1 on top of it. (This is important, otherwise you may get issues later) 5)Run the sql server setup again and this time install "SQL Server PowerPivot for Sharepoint" feature. Once complete click Please launch the PowerPivot Configuration Tool to configure the server. This will configure the share point server with power pivot feature. 6)Now run the SQL Server setup again and this time instal;l the features reporting services for sharepoint & reporting services add-in for sharepoint products which we left out in step 2. Based on these steps just follow the link I have provided (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/karang/archive/2012/04/13/step-by-step-guide-of-installing-power-view-with-powerpivot-2012.aspx) which has screen shots to guide you. Thanks. --------------------------------------------- Please mark as answer if this helps you.
