Installing MOSS 2007 on WIn 7 32-bit  Enterprise
Hi I know installing MOSS 2007 on Win 7 32-bit is not supported but this doesn't mean it isn't possible..... I need to this type of install for remote working on a laptop and for demo purposes. Anyway, I had been following http://blogs.msdn.com/weslbo/archive/2009/05/08/how-to-install-moss-2007-sp2-on-windows-7-rc-build-7100.aspx. The referenced link to MOSS 2007 (officerServer.exe) includes (I think) SP2 so no need to slipstream. I simply point the (Bamboo) launcher at setup.exe which is found after the OfficeServer.exe is extracted. The installer seems to work successfully; although I did get a warning: " not all updates were applied". The issue is I simply cannot get past the "Specify Configuration Database Settings" page of the install wizard..... I have created users, tried local host, prefixed the machine name. You name it, however it fails with "password for the specified account is invalid". I wonder if all the updates contained in OfficeServer.exe were applied. Anyone able to do this type install or have an alternative approach. cheeers Daniel

Ok.. I feel you might be having issues with the Indexing service on Win7. Can you turn that off? Also check the drive on which your Databases are being created is it a compressed drive, if yes, then undo compression. Check & confirm. BR, PM

BR, PM Hi thanks for getting back to me Goto Start Select Control Panel Select Programs Select Programs and Features Select Turn Windows Features on or off View "Indexing Service" - this has never been checked I am trying to do this install on a native bootable .VHD. I am not sure about compression as this I never enabled on creation.
