Installing MOM 2005 - prerequisite check
I try to install MOM 2005 on Windows 2008 R2 with SQL 2008 and network framwork 3.5.1 to test things out, but I get the following prerequisite check results: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 SP3 or later MOM Database Could not get SQL Server instance names Download the required version from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/ .NET Framework v1.1 MOM Management Server Download the required version from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/ Any idea what could be the problem here?

I bet that MOM can't talk to SQL2008. And, you're missing the .Net framework version 1.1 on your server; the versions of .Net framework aren't backward compatible, so you'll need to install 1.1 MOM2005 general support ended last year, so if you need help from MS, you'll pay for it."Fear disturbs your concentration"

I don't think MOM 2005 is supported on this platform. Since 64 bit isn't supported anymore on MOM 2005 as far as I know You need to get SCOM 2007 R2 which is compatible for sure! http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/en/us/try-it.aspx Regards, Oskar
