Hi All, I'm experiencing some issues with the installation of the SCCM client in my task sequences which cause the Task sequence to stop running. The TS seems to download the required files onto the target system under the c:\windows\systems32\ccmsetup folder and then if I launch task manager I can see that ccmsetup.exe is running but after a short amount of time it seems to start up a secnd instance of ccmsetup.exe and then shortly afterwards the system restarts and does not restart into the task sequence. I have setup the TS to install the R3 patch at the time of install by using the command PATCH=C:\_SMSTaskSequence\OSD\XXX00033\i386\hotfix\KB977384\sccm2007ac-sp2-kb977384-x86-enu.msp and selected the option to continue on error and this has been in place and working for some time. I have also noticed that when the operating system restarts into windows the ccmsetup.exe client starts up again and seems to sucessfully install the SCCM client on the PC but WITHOUT the R3 patch. Is that relavent? This TS is to install Windows XP SP3 32-bit Can anybody offer any advice which might help me to troubleshoot this? Thank you

what does your ccmsetup.log file say ? is your computer being targetted by a gpo or network startup script that is attempting to install the client at the same time as the setup windows and configmgr step ? have you reviewed this post in relation to applying the KB977384 patch My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady
