Installation of SCCM 2007
Hi, I am planning to install SCCM and wanted to know your thoughts on capacity management of the hard disk. The plan is to have SCCM\Wsus and DPM running off one server. I was thinking to have separate partitions for each and another for the SQL db and Wsus content. please let me know your thoughts thanks Dipan

Hi, First, note that using another application which uses SQL on the same ConfigMgr server is not a best practice http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693510.aspx. Also, I recommend 4 partitions : a raid 10 for SQL BD, a raid 10 for SQL log, a raid 10 for OS and a raid 10 for ConfigMgr/WSUS. In addition, have a look at this link http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrsetup/thread/726f2fba-de28-42b5-a622-2830641109d8/ Also Windows 2008 R2/SQL 2008 R2/WSUS 3.0 SP2/ConfigMgr 2007 with SP2 are strongly recommended, otherwise see the system requirements http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680717.aspx Bechir Gharbi | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/bgharbi/default.aspx

Thank you all for the fast response!!! I should have provided more info on the infrastructure, Site wise we have under 100 users. The server I'm planning to use for this has 4*500GB hard drives. Is it still possible to have the RAID 10 setup with amount of services i am planning to install? thanks again

You don't have to worry much about performance when talking about that small number of clients.
