Installation Powerpivot
Hello,
I try to use my sharepoint lists as sources for powerpivot on and have an issue at installing ASP.NET.
I found that helpful link for installation:
http://sqlserverrider.wordpress.com/2011/06/10/sharepoint-list-data-source-in-powerpivot/. Then I downloaded the correct file (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=221066),
BUT: When I try to install the file, but a message appeared saying something like : "this update is not suitable for that computer" (originally in german, I tried to translate...)
Has anyone an idea, what I can do?
I use Sharepoint 2010 @ Windows 2008 R2 (german) on Hyper-V, 12 GB RAM, XEON
X5660 @ 2.8GHz
Thank you for any suggestions,

Hi Erich,
After read the document of the word, I find may be you download the wrong of the version. Because your environment is Windows server 2008 R2 , you should download here :
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=195068:
Windows Server 2008

Hello Jack,
thank you for this supposal. But I thin this link is only for Windows 2008 Server, not for R2, isn't it? I use Server 2008 R2.
When I try to install this framework update, the message appears, that there is no product installed, that needs this update (same with all 3 downloads)! Is there any other prerequisite for that?
Erich

Hi Erich,
By any chance are you using SQL Server 2008? The white paper indicates that this download is applicable for
SQL Server 2008 R2.

Hi Erich,
I find
it suddenly your operate system language is German(Because you said "originally in german, I tried to translate...).
So, when you download the install package, you should put it in a directory of English, then install it.
Thanks,
Jack

Hello Jack,
which directory do you mean with directory of "English"?
I also tried to download the "german" ADO.NET files, for 2008 and 2008 R2.
Best Regards,
Erich

Hi erich,
I means when you down load the package to local, your local folder name should be English not
German. When I down load the package,
I get the error
"the update is not applicable to your computer" when I install it.
After my search, the package is already
include in Windows 2008 R2 SP1.
Here is a similar case , you can refer to it.

Hello Jack,
I already thought the same, that it is already included in SP1.
I now will try to install on another machine from the scratch. Let's see, if it works there.

Erich
