I have issues installing SharePoint Server 2010 on a 2008 R2 Server, the error message i got was "one or more office components was not completely installed", I have gone through David Lim's blog and the suggestions i got there didn't work out, I can't even find the PendingFileOperations on my regedit, pls i need your suggestions. Thanks.

Can you post some of your PSCdiagnostic log from when you installed SharePoint 2010? It will help us troubleshoot your issues. The log can be located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS

The PSConfig logs are good but a bit verbose for the first cut. At what point in the process (and can you give us a link to the page you were using?) did you get your error message?

Hi  Sam_Gems,

You should create the key PendingFileRenameOperations.

Reference: Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 encountered an error during setup. One or more required office components failed to complete successfully.

Also for installing SharePoint Server 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008,  Andreas' Blog with very helpful manuals you can have a look:
