Install software on more than one OS
I have an exe that I want to install on clients on a domain. I have SCCM 2007 on the domain server and I want to roll out the application to all clients on the domain but some clients are dual booting PCs (they have Windows XP and Windows 7). Is it possible to install the application on both Operating systems at the same time?

Hello - To deploy applications or exe through SCCM you should have SCCM clients installed on all the desktops.Anoop C Nair

No, it is not possible to install the application for both the OS's at the same time using SCCM. Dual boot PC's are not supported by SCCM. Extract from Technet: Dual Boot Computers Configuration Manager 2007 cannot manage more than one operating system on a single computer. If there is more than one operating system on a computer that must be managed, adjust the discovery and installation methods that are used to ensure that the Configuration Manager client is installed only on the operating system that needs to be managed. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd547071.aspx Regards, Madan | www.madanmohan.com

Alternatively the only other option I have is to change the installer so that it installs to two OS on target machine at once. I don't think this is possible.

Hello - I don't think that is a recommended scenario. This is already confirmed by Madan. May be, you can give a try in test lab.Anoop C Nair
