Install options greyed out
I'm installing Sharepoint Server 2007 on a Windows 2003 R2, SP2 server that already has SQL2005 and Sharepoint Services 3.0 installed. I start the installation and after the license agreement screen, it skips the screen allowing me to select Advanced installation and goes straight to the screen with the radio button installation choices and Stand-Alone is selected. The other two options, Complete and Web are greyed out. I want to install the first server of a Sharepoint Farm and not the stand-alone install. Any ideas? FYI - I've downloaded the ISO from MVLS site AND tried the disk from my TechNet Media kit. Same result from both installs.

I had this problem yesterday during installation of my first Server in the farm. You have to uninstall WSS3 to get the options for advanced installation. During installation of MOSS2007 in installs WSS3 by default. That fixed my problem. Good luck.

Ahh. That's what I get for trying to be prepared and install the prerequisites. Thanks!!!

It's semantics. The WSS 3.0 *technology* (provided by .NET Framework 3.0) is a pre-requisite. The WSS 3.0 product (download)is not. If you could reply to me (giving a sensible subject line)at the hot mail address englantilainen giving the Microsoft source of information that gave you this unclear pre-requisite information, I'll try to get it fixed/improved.
