I'm installing updates in task sequence and none download. I thought you normally see them downloading. It just sits there with the Install Updates task running. I do have a deployment targeted to the "unknown computers" collection as well.

So I check the SMSTS.log file and it is timing out after 30 minutes. I did follow MS KB article 2009754 and added a restart step followed by another install updates step. It never actually starts to download anything that you see watching the step.

The hotfix from KB 2509007 fixes an issue that sounds exactly like what you've described.
