Yes, but there isn't a product called SharePoint 3.0. Do you mean WSS 3.0 or MOSS 2007 ? FAQ sites: (SP 2010) http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com; (v3) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com and (WSS 2.0) http://wssv2faq.mindsharp.com Complete Book Lists (incl. foreign language) on each site.

One issue I ran into with the install was making the mistake of enabling the IIS Role in Windows Server 2008 R2 before running the WSS v3 SP2 installer. Don't do that. Instead, just run the WSS v3 SP2 installer on the server and allow it to enable whatever Windows Server 2008 Roles and Features it needs to run. Just a heads up... Hi, thank for replies http://www.wictorwilen.se/Post/Fix-the-SharePoint-DCOM-10016-error-on-Windows-Server-2008-R2.aspx Need to fix the DCOM Error after the Installation. Also need to add the Network Service to the IIS WAMREG application and then set the Launch and Activation Permissions Settings.

You're going to to want to open a new thread for this, the general preference in these forums is to not have two separate questions in the same thread. Most people will see that this thread has an answer and not pay much attention to it, but if you open a new one it will appear at the top of the list and be unanswered, informing other users that they may want to take a look at it and help you out. Plus then you can give it a headline that is more pertinent to your new issue, so they have better context about what you need help with.
