Install SCCM Client on Windows 7 Masater image and deploy Pt II Problem
I have installed the cleint on the master win7 image, stopped the SMS Agent Service and syspreped and deployed to hardware What I have now found is that the newly deployed image has been added to the domain and I can see several logs in the syswow64\ccm\logs direcotry: ClientIDManagerStartup ccmexec PolicyAgentProvidor StatusAgent ClientLocation smscliui setuppolicyevaluator However on the client there is no site information, and under Actions Tab there is only "User Policy Retrieval and Evaluation Cycle" / "MAchine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle". - These were the only ones on the master image actually when I ran in the install from the link above. Boundaries are fine and firewall rules are ok also. I know if I manually go onto the client and click discover it will pick up the details and download the neccessary information, but I don't want to have to do this. What am I missing or what should I check for?

From the above description you missed a vital step, deleting the client certificates before capturing the image: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb694095.aspx. Why aren't you using a Build & Capture Task Sequence? It would have done all this for you. Why aren't you using a Build & Capture Task Sequence? It would have done all this for you. I'll even go one step further... Why aren't you deploying you image with OSD which eliminates the need to add the client in the image? Even back in the Ghost days I didn't install the client in the image. Hi John, Thanks for the reply -I will go back to and test again. As for the Ghost question. We will be giving our PC supplier the ghost image and they will put it on the PC's in their warehouse and then they will go to our offices and deploy the PC's. I will use Image deployment / OSD on current machines that need to be repaired / upgraded. ...... I'll report back.

It talks about removing certificates from the local computer store. The master image has nothing (in IE / Tools / Internet Options / Contents / Certificates) in Personal or Other People. Has plenty in Intermediate however. What do I need to remove? Kent mentioned he used to use ccmdelcert in SMS 2003 days. I see other people have used this for SCCM 2007 clients. What do you think?

It doesn't have anything because you are looking in the wrong place. ConfigMgr always generates certificates in mixed mode. You must connect to the local computers certificate store and then look in the SMS store. ccmdelcert will also delete these certs but ccmdelcert is an SMS2003 tool that is probably officially unsupported.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys

Even i am facing same problem while creating the Master image, in the SCCM Client there will only two action tabs(User Policy Retrieval and Evaluation Cycle)& GUID will be not generated once we uninstall & reinstall SCCM Client everything works perfect, i have tried capturing the image through MDT by clearing all the certificate & configured the wim file in the SCCM OSD but still the issue is not resloved. is there any solution to fix this issue, it would be very helpfu.
