Install.wim Image WAIK feature does not install my myfiles.wim file
I am trying to get the Windows 7 setup to include my fiiles and run a process to install my application automattically once the Windows setup completes. I've tried 3 different approaches, none have worked as described. I've tried openning the install.wim file and adding a scrtipt directly to the user profiles startup folder, I've tried adding a setupcomplete.cmd to the setup\scrtips folder and now I have just tryied to add my files via a myfiles.WIM install with a FirstLogon feature set imy unattend.xml file to run my app install. All three styles fail to install my files on the target PC and run then my install script. I've posted the setupcomplete.cmd issue (see below) on the WIndows 7 sight but have yet ot recieve a reply (70+ views but no replies) so I am reposting on the SCCM site to see if anyone is having the same problem or has a solution to simply automattically run a script once setup completes. Post in WIndows 7 Forum: I am trying to add a setupcomplete.cmd file to my Windows 7 install.wim file so I can run a script at the end of setup. I opened the install.wim with imagex (and dism) and added the folders as described below and committed the changes. I then copied the newinstall.wim to my installation media and installed windows7. When the install\setup completes the setupcomplete script does not run and the file is not on the newly loaded PC. If I re-mount the install.wim file, my changes are there. I also tried allowing WAIK to create a new catalog file for the install wim and copy that onto my install medai as well but it still does nto load or run. Is there some other file/process that needs to be included or updated so the setupcomplete.cmd is loaded when setup installs windows and runs once it is finished? Add a Custom Script to Windows Setup You can add custom scripts to Windows® Setup that can be configured to run in different circumstances. You can run a custom script: Immediately after Windows Setup completes. If Windows Setup encounters a fatal error. Run a Custom Script after Windows Setup Completes You can make further customizations after Windows Setup completes by adding commands to the %WINDIR%\Setup\Scripts\SetupComplete.cmd file. This file enables you to install additional applications, run custom Windows scripts (cscript/wscript), or make other modifications to the system before a user logs on.
