Instaling sharepoint 2007 on windows 7
Hi All ,
Actually i have a laptop with the following hardware and software configuration :
OS : Windows 7 - Home (32 Bit)
Processor : Intel Dual Core (32 Bit)
RAM - 4GB (3GB Usable)
I need to install sharepoint 2007 now on my laptop . I have referred the following link for installing sharepoint 2007 on Virtual PC 2007 .
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/sharepoint/Install_SharePoint_on_VPC.aspx
After i start the virtual PC it asks me for logging into windows server 2003 but nothing happens on CTRL+ALT+DEL :( :(
I actually wanna knw whether i can install sharepoint 2007 directly on my host pc instead of configuring it on a Virtual PC .
And , the hard disc what i have selected for the abv installation is C:/ only . My laptop hasnt gt any partition .
I dunno whether this is creating any issue .
So pls anyone out there guide me whether i can directly install sharepoint 2007 on Windows 7 w/o virtual machine concept , and in any case if this isnt possible pls let me kno the alternative with detailed steps
Thanks & Regards ,

I think you are going to have some problems. There are some work arounds for getting to get it to work on a Win7 client machine, but it will be limited in what you can do. Here is one write up that I'm familiar with:

The better alternative is a server hosted VM with more RAM and 64-bit OS with access to AD.SharePoint MVP | Developer | Administrator | Speaker--
