We also have IRM complaining and it is not being used and is disabled in MOSS 2007 SPCA "Information Rights Management (IRM): There was a problem while trying to activate a rights account certificate. The specific problem could not be determined." I had this in our old farm which was based on Win 2003 R2 SP2 servers as well as our current TST and Prod farms which are based on Win 2008 R2 servers.

Same here... disabled in CA but regularly getting the event log error 5062. Running 64-bit Win 2008 R2 servers and MOSS2007 with June 2010 cumulative update across the farm. Would love to know the answer to this one.

It seems we are all receiving the same error message and have checked "Do not use IRM on this server" in Central Administration > Operations Information Rights Management to indicate to SharePOin we don't want to use this service. The link to technet article posted by Ahmed is not really a solution in my opinion. It simple explains in brief what IRM is, and how to identify in SharePoint where the IRM server is located. It does not address the issue of "Why do we get this error message (and how do we stop it) when we've already told SharePoint we're not using IRM on this server? Is there some other setting that conflicts with this? dms
