I've published an InfoPath form in a SharePoint document library. When the InfoPath form is submitted, it is saved as a InfoPath document in the same document library. Some of the InfoPath form fields after submit are updating document library item fields. But some of the custom fields in document library don't depend on the inputs from InfoPath form.
Thus, When I try to edit and save those independent fields related to that document using "Edit Properties", it resulted into an error i.e "Document is blocked by the user(<username>)". But when i try after some time to edit those fields, it worked successfully. I don't know whether it takes some time by the InfoPath form to get synced with the document library.

What could be possible reason behind it?

Hi Kunal,

It doesn't matter whether the fields are dependent or independent it InfoPath form. One Item is treated as a single entity with both type of fields and while dependent fields are in use the item is blocked for editing and because of that independent fields are also blocked.
