I am a newbie at this.

I have a new InfoPath form that works great when I Edit an Item and Display an Item.

When I click "New Item" you cannot type in any of the fields and many of the fields (mutli-line text) don't even show up.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I suppose that this issue may be caused by the rules set in InfoPath form.

Could you please check the form in InfoPath Designer to see if there are any rules set the fields read only or hidden when no data filled in the form?

It will be much better if you can provide screenshots of the form and the steps for customizing the form for reproducing and resolve this issue.
