InfoPath 2013 and SharePoint - Code behind

I hope this is enough for you to help me... I've got an older development environment with SharePoint 2010 SP1 installed on a web server and an app server in a very simple farm (SQL instance on a 3rd VM). I'm trying to get Visual Studio 2012 (VSTA and Premium are installed) to run my very basic code to add an item to a list as a test. I can't get beyond an issue with the version of the .NET Framework...

Microsoft SharePoint is not supported with version 4.0.30319.34209 of the Microsoft .Net Runtime.

I've tried uninstalling 4.5.2 which is the latest version available on the web server but that just causes Visual Studio to error to the extent that I can't open my InfoPath coded solution.

I've removed and re-enabled .NET 3.5 from the Add/Remove Windows Features and that makes no difference. My project is targetted at version 3.5 and yet I can't get past the error.

What am I missing?

Thanks. N03L

Hi,

Try uninstall vs and infopath, reinstall .net 3.5, then install infopath and vsto.

Hope it can help.
