InfoPath 2010 Form/Library Submit Issues

I have been working with InfoPath and SharePoint 2010 for a few years now so if this question has an easy response/answer, I apologize in advance.

I have a large InfoPath 2010 Form that our company uses for accounting purposes. Today the form suddenly stopped working. When a user hits the 'Submit' button the rules are configured to set a few field names, submit data to library then close the form. As of now, the submit button is not functioning correctly. When it is pushed the form says 'Submitting data to library' and then nothing happens. The form does not close and nothing is submitted to the library. I have even added a seperate button that only submits and closes, no other rules configured. Still no luck. I have created a template from that library and published forms to the new library from the template and all works fine. I just can't get the actual 'Live' library and form to function properly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know what else to try at this point. If i publish different versions of the forms to the current library it doesn't fix the issue. The library seems as if it's not allowing any new items to be submitted. (There are only 4k items in the library so the threshold for sharepoint lists/libraries is not being met.)

Hi,

Yes it seems that your Library got a problem.

If the form suddenly stop working fron one day to another, you have to check some values:

  • How many item have you got in your Library? Tue high number of item may cause your issue.
  • Have you change some things to the Library? (number of columns,...)

Please try to save your form Inside a folder in your Library in order to check if it works.

Hope this helps.

You say you have a large form - how many fields are you collecting on the form and how many fields are you publishing (or promoting) to the library as columns? Have any new fields been added? Has any datatype on any of the fields changed?

In the new test library you created, are you promoting fields to columns in the library, or are you just saving the forms into the library?

Hi Chase,

Please try this:

Do right click on submit button and go to Submit options and click on Manage as:

and thenSelect your Submit Connection and click on modify as:

and after that I hope your form will be saved in the given library path.

The form has roughly 150 fields, I'm only publishing about 30 of them to the library as columns. No fields were added and nothing changed. I have tried changing the submit options on the button, saving the form library as a template, pushing a previous version of the form to the library, etc. Nothing seemed to work. Even in SP Designer, when i open the workflows associated with the form library all the rules now show:

if current item: equals: Yes

if current item: is not equal to: No

There is no value for the 'current item'. Typically it would show 'if current item:'FIELD NAME' is equal to Yes' but when i try re-adding the fields no columns are populated. It's as if everything got disconnected. I had to completely rebuild the workflows, republish the form to a new library, and re-setup the views.

I appreciate the help given here but unfortunatly nothing solved my issue. My remaining fear is, I don't know what caused it so I can't troubleshoot the issue to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Lastly, There are only 3,500 items in the library, no where near the threshold.
