Indexes on Fuzzy Lookup
I am trying to find out how to build and maintain indexes on Fuzzy Lookup. My reference table is key.Person and it has c. 5m records in it. When running my SSIS package for the first time I have ticked the 'Generate New Index' radio button, and have also ticked the 'Store new index' check box. I have named the index FG_Person_K1, and when I run the package it creates 2 tables. Firstly it creates dbo.FG_Person_K1, and secondly it creates a table called FG_Person_K1_FLRef_110119_08:44:33_3916_fb6bda9c-22d9-49ed-86ef-49692ef9a45c. If I now want to maintain that index, for future reuse what do I need to do?? I assume that as long as I maintain the index, that I now want the package for subsequent runs to use the existing index, which I assume would be the dbo.FG_Person_K1 table?? Thanks David

Correct, and the index will be there, to maintain a DBA normally would check its health, basically you need to have the update stats set on, defrag and unfragment.Arthur My Blog
