Index and length must refer to a location within the string.
I am using Visual Studio to create a package.dtsx that will take data from three tables in SQL Server and export them to Excel through the ADO NET Source to an Excel Destination. There is a preview button that should show the tables in the Excel Destination editor window, but for all three of them, this error comes pops up:TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio------------------------------ There was an error displaying the preview. ------------------------------ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Index and length must refer to a location within the string.Parameter name: length (mscorlib) ------------------------------Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,Laura

Why are you attempting to use a preview window on a Destination? (I never did understand why that "feature" is there.) You won't see any of your data...

I've run in to several cryptic errors with the Excel source - even crashes that pull down BIDS entirely - because the "source" statement or reference was illegal. If you have an issue, please start a new thread with particulars. Tell us what your Excel workbook looks like, and how you've configured the Excel Source. Talk to me now on
