Increase Sharepoint Site and Server Performance
In my company iam working on a test server in which Sharepoint 2007 is installed. But from last 3 days the sharepoint site is running very slow. What could be the problem for this behaviour. How to increase the Response time of the site. What should i check in the server. And what Measures should i take to increase the performance of Site and Server. Following are the configuration of my Test server details:Processor: 3.20 GHzRAM: 8 GBOperating System: Windows Server 2008 (service pack 2) 64- bit

Hi sunkrajesh,if you have only one sharepoint server in your farm it could be, that a crawl is started on the sharepoint server for indexing.Kind regards,Danny

Hi Danny,thanks for ur reply. I have only one server for search and everything. U mean If i use one server performance will be reduced, if searching is enabled.

Hi, Could you post your Event Logs especially the application event log into the forum for further analyze? Are you using anonymous authentication? NTLM / Kerberos? What version is your SharePoint server? Do you have any customized code running on top of SharePoint? Do you see the performance issues under specific conditions - i.e. High load / Users? Also, please enable ULS logging and reproduce the issue, post the error into the forum.
