Including all of the drivers into a standalone boot media (usb)

Hello,

I have integrated all of the NIC drivers into the boot.wim.  I am using a standalone Media. I would like to include all of the drivers for a particular Model of laptop into OSD process.  The connection back to the Primary Server is very slow on this distribution point.  Using Dism could I slipstream all of the drivers of the model of laptop into the Operating system Image to make them available during the operating system Deployment? I know this will make the Standalone media large on a USB stick.  Is this the best way to do this?

Thanks again!!!

Mark

Thanks for your response.  I know the process of burning a standalone image to a USB, but want to clarify how to add all of the drivers for a particular model of laptop  to the Operating system image using dism.  I know how to add drivers using dism, but didn't know if this is the best way. Basically I don't want the standalone media to reach basic to the Primary server, but find the drivers in the standalone media on the USB stick

Thanks,

Mark

Create a driver package for the model you want and add that to your task sequence. No need to use DISM at all. I'm assuming your sequence is using auto apply drivers -step? That isn't supported on standalone media, so you're forced to use driver packages.

Always categorize your drivers with a category specific to the make/model, this makes it easier to use the GUI when creating a driver package.

More info on creating the media can be found here: http://blog-en.netvnext.com/2013/10/sccm-2012-osd-deploying-windows-using.html
