Including ReportBuilder in a desktop application.
I'm evaluating Crystal, ReportBuilder, and a few other solutions to allow the users of our application to create reports with our data.
1. Can we redistribute ReportBuilder with our application? If not as a control, perhaps as just an out of process call to the executable?
2. Is there some API that will let us customize ReportBuilder to setup our configuration (datasources, etc.).Looking through some of the posts in this forum it looks like the answer is a "No", but wanted
to confirm.
Thanks

Hi,
Generally, we can start Report Builder in several ways. For example, if Reporting Services has been deployed, you can add a hyperlink in your desktop application to launch the Report
Builder through the URL like
http://<servername>/reportserver/reportbuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0_0.application.
For more information about How to Start Report Builder, please refer to

For the second question, I’m afraid we are not able to add data sources to the default report template of Report Builder. One alternative approach is to create a template
report and open it for each time.
We appreciate your understanding. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
