Inboxes monitoring - asking how to
Hi, Can someone give me some guidance on how to monitor/maintain the SCCM Inboxes? I found a powershell script that gives a count of files in the inboxes, but after looking at the structure, I can determine that some files are supposed to be there. I guess that the goal is not to have 0 files on each folder? How do I know which files should not be there, and how do I clean them? http://www.systemcentercentral.com/BlogDetails/tabid/143/IndexId/12979/Default.aspx This is what I have so far: Count Path 2 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\amtproxymgr.box\bad 2 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\clifiles.src\hinv 6 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\ddm.box\data.col 4 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\despoolr.box\receive 7 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\hman.box\pubkey 20 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\pkginfo.box 5 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\replmgr.box\history 7 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\replmgr.box\ready\2_ol81a7.TO1 3 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\schedule.box\outboxes\LAN 2 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\schedule.box\tosend 2 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\schedule.box\UID 3 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\sinv.box\BADSinv 100 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\sitectrl.box\history 2 \\MyServer.domain.local\SMS_XXX\inboxes\smsbkup.box thanks

It's fine that there are more than 0 files in those inboxes; ConfigMgr usually takes care of them automatically and does also an automatic clean-up, so no need to do anything manually. Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Thanks Torsten . I was told by a consultant that these had to be manually cleaned when there were more than 0... I'll still keep an eye to make sure that it doesn't go from 100 to 1000 files overnight :) Good to know; I appreciate the community's support. have a great day.

I was told by a consultant that these had to be manually cleaned when there were more than 0... Tell him that this is unsupported and might break things ... ;-)Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de
