Inbound sync from AD to FIM fails to pull account name
I am a newbie to FIM, so hopefully this question will be easy to answer (a guy can hope, right?). I have followed the article "How Do I Synchronize Users from Active Directory Domain Services to FIM" with some success, but my inbound sync is failing in one important way. It doesn't appear to pull account names from AD into FIM. It pulls First Names, Last Names, Display Names, Domain, and displays these attributes in the user page on the sharepoint site; but the account name is missing. I see no SID on that page either. In the Synchronization Service Manager, I see my imported user objects as having all requisite information (first names, last names, display names, account names, objectSid, etc.). Thanks in advance for any help.

How Do I Guides are not targeted for "newbies". You should really first start with the introduction to inbound/outbound synchronization as recommended in the document. To backtrack your issue, you need to check whether the attribute is: in the AD connector space in the metaverse in the FIM connector space If one of these points is not true, you have an answer for what to check. The steps are in the introduction to docs. Cheers, MarkusMarkus Vilcinskas, Knowledge Engineer, Microsoft Corporation
