Inactive machines - Auto Wake up

Afternoon All

I would like to know if SCCM 2012 has an option / script I can run that checks for inactive PC's and sents a WAKE On LAN Package to wake up them up.

Reason - If this worked then the PC's should speak to the DP and become Active once again.

The goal would then allow me to review why PC's are still inactive and delete them if required

We have a large number of PC's and some dont get turned on for over 30+ days - Yes I do windows patching every 3 months - But i would like a clearer overview.

Any Tips

There is no builtin check for inactive clients but you can create collections for inactive clients but again Inactive could be for various reasons  and is not specific to offline PC's. Client may become inactive if sccm agent is not functional well .Take a look at this this thread to get some information about clients inactive status https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/dcf47db0-55a4-4b0f-a8e5-caae7449a89d/when-sccm-client-activity-become-and-consider-as-inactive?forum=configmanagerdeployment

Take a look at this technet link https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh338432.aspx? ,check the Note : If none of the settings are met, the client will be marked as inactive.

There is no way to simply send a WoL magic packet to clients. You can however (building on Eswar's answer) create a collection of inactive clients and deploy a simple script to them that does nothing but the deployment is set to send the WoL packet. You can then set the deployment to run on recurring basis, like every week or two.

Remember though, as Eswar pointed out, this will catch systems that are actually still connected to the network and can receive a magic packet. There are many reasons why this may not be the case.
