In place SQL 2008 upgrade on SCCM primary
I have to migrate our primary SCCM server from windows 2003 to 2008 as part of my org's refresh. In addition, they would like to ensure all SQL servers are at 2008. I plan on backing up the site server, turning the machine off, installing the new site server with same name and drive paths, installing SQL 2005 SP3 (which is on the current server)restoring and performing a site reset. At that time, I hope to upgrade the database on the site server to 2008. Has anyone done that and if so, are there any caveats?JustinS

Just go directly to 2008. No need to restore onto 2005 then upgrade. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |
