In a document library, returning from Editing a document's properties takes you to the top of the view, not where you were
In a document library with several hundred documents (viewing the default 100 at a time), selecting a document and then closing it returns the user to the location of that document in the list of documents. However, editing the properties of that document and closing that returns the user to the top of the document listing. This is a problem for the user, so I suggested using a view of 20 or so documents. That does work, since the user can't be too far from the document, but isn't an ideal solution. So, what needs to be done in order to change the behavior of the Edit Properties form to return the user to the current location in the document listing?

there is no great solution to this issue. I am sure someone clever could solve this with a bunch of javascript, but there is really no simple solution.

Hi Dave, Have you tried displaying the document library in datasheet view? You can bulk edit an items properties very quickly in this view. Regards, Savoeurn Va Microsoft Online Community Support
